![]() It really is as simple as it sounds, we remove your old tile totally dust free. No dust, no mess, no stress! Not only does our service include removing your old floors dust free, but we also haul away all tile debris! When we leave, you're left with a clean sub floor ready for new flooring. We became involved in dust free tile removal after analyzing our remodeling process and addressing the messiest and time-consuming part of it: the flooring removal. After using the techniques and equipment on our own projects within the business, we decided to offer it to the public, creating Pro Dust Free Tile Removal. Traditional tile removal is messy- tile is chipped away and thinset is ground down into a ultra fine powder, comparable to the consistency of flour. Imagine blowing flour all over your house, finely coating all your surfaces, walls, everywhere. That is what traditional tile removal can be like! Even worse than the inconvenience of a dusty mess, thinset contains crystalline silica. On its own, crystalline silica is not harmful. Materials like sand, stone, concrete and mortar contain it. It only becomes dangerous when it is made airborne. Respirable crystalline silica is created when cutting and grinding thinset and concrete. Breathing in these very small particles can increase the risk of developing respiratory diseases. With our specialized tools and expertise, we are able to remove a variety of flooring types while capturing this harmful and messy dust. On average, we collect about 1 lb of this dust per square foot of tile removed. The below video goes into detail about the dangers of crystalline silica and the protections OSHA has put in place to protect workers exposed to it. HOW IT WORKSWe use specialized tool attachments and powerful HEPA vacuum systems. When dust is created from chipping away tile or grinding down thinset or glue, it is immediately sucked away by our vacuum system and filtered away, allowing it to never enter the free air in your home. OUR PROCESS![]() The first step in our process is to give you a quote. This can be done over the phone just by asking you a few questions about the type of flooring, tile size and the square footage of what you're looking to have removed. We'll even email you a written quote if you'd like! If you want to move forward, we'll send you our proposal to sign digitally and a link to pay your deposit online. No hassle of having to print out papers to sign and scan or mail back to us, we keep it simple! Once your project is scheduled, we'll give you a call a day before we're scheduled to arrive to confirm our appointment. In most instances, we'll schedule to start bright and early at 7:30 AM. On your scheduled day, we'll arrive and get right to work! We'll need access to a 220 volt outlet to plug in our specialized equipment. This is usually an outlet that your dryer or oven plug into. Before we begin, we'll cover up any furniture or cabinets as needed to prevent damage from tile shards (no dust!) We'll also put on jamb protectors in the areas we're working in to protect your trim and doorways from hoses and cords rubbing up against them while we work as seen in this photo. When we're done, you'll be left with a clean subfloor ready for new flooring. No dusty mess! No matter the type of new flooring you are installing, dust free tile removal is the way to go.
